Von’s motto Work Hard, Play Hard (a bit too much lately)

“Burning the Candles at both Ends”

It’s been a busy few months with work, parties, kids events, mums taxi and a fabulous family wedding in Ireland.  Time for a bit of R&R and a trip to our new favourite shop http://www.lush.co.uk

The kids are 12 and 13 and their skin’s changing and want to ensure they use as natural products as possible.  I love coconut oil but thought I’d give this a try.  It’s the bath bombs that gets the teenagers in, my bath is covered in glitter galore…..  A visit to the Trafford Centres new flagship store and we weren’t disappointed.  The lady couldn’t do enough to help, sat down with the kids first and talked through what they wanted.  They tried a number of facial soaps but came away with Fresh Farmacy

Their website quotes… “Every ingredient is carefully selected for its gentleness on the skin, with chamomile, elderflower, calamine and lavender; this is nature at its kindest. In order to make this soap gentle enough to use on your face as well as your body, we took out some of the soap base and replaced it with beautiful essential oils: chamomile blue oil is soothing on the skin; lavender oil calms the mind; tea tree oil is a mild antiseptic and rose absolute is good for restoring balance to the skin”

We’ve put it to the test and LOVE it and around £9.50 for the block which lasts forever with 3 of us using this, bit messy when cutting up trying to get into the tin, it broke and ended up in bits..

The fun bit starts, face masks.  For a teenage boy he’s very clean (he’ll do a Kevin when reads this).  Madam wants to try everything but loses interest after a few days….  the kids gone with this face mask

Cupcake Fresh Face Mask

smells of chocolate, washes off all over my new white fluffy towels and newly painted white bathroom walls but washes off… keeping it in the fridge for freshness, it’s lasted well and kids love it, theirs has nearly ran out so nicking mine….

Mixing it up ?

I try to keep natural products on my face due to my psoriasis and don’t look after it enough, my wrinkles are plumped out by the extra fat I’m carrying so helps.  I’ve always had chubby cheeks even at my smallest and disliked them but now come in handy to knock a few years off, just need to reduce the chins, I’ll get there slowly…  my turn to try my mask

The lady tried a number of different ones and talked me through, loved the feeling of this one and the grit of the seaweed and honey.  It’s marvellous and combined with the soap it’s amazing…

The wedding was amazing, it was my long lost cousin (that’s another story) and his beautiful wife in Ireland ?? (a few drinks were consumed)….

Back to reality, need to pick up the pace with Javeno at http://www.j7healthcentre.co.uk/  Its been difficult with kids back at school, balancing clubs, work, Mr C and laziness but paid off I got in my frock, psoriasis was minimal and feel much better.  His banter, warm welcome and friendly people make it easier just need to keep the motivation going, slowly but surely my fats reducing, been up and down but my cholesterol’s lower, blood pressure good and psoriasis best it’s been so can’t conplain – still long way to go and trying to keep healthy body and mind = reduced psoriasis so all good, until next time with some exciting news love FattyVonVon ?
